A week from today, the industry will be bustling as the trade show floor will open for IAAPA Expo 2024. As is customary in the week running up to that show, various companies peel back the curtains on what new products they are bringing to the show. While we will be running a complete and exhaustive IAAPA preview post and livestream discussion soon, some companies like Raw Thrills have already made things official now, so let’s take a look.

Halo: Fireteam Raven 2-Player Tethered

While I prefer to call this and the 4-Player model that was released a while back the “Assault Model” (due to the use of the Halo Assault Rifle for a controller), the official name is the tethered model. We had discussed the new 2-Player tethered cabinet a short time ago, and today, there is a major update on this. It is now confirmed to be shipping, with a few early machines likely already out there. I asked one of my reps what the price was and MSRP is around $12k plus freight.

The release was accompanied by this extensive media kit, which allows distributors as well as locations to promote the game to their respective customers. On locations, it even has files for printing up a standee banner if you want, or social media graphics like this one:

Since we’re already discussing one game that will be at the show, let’s discuss the others. Keep in mind that in the event that the Betson/Raw Thrills booth is too busy when you stop by, you can also find select RT games over at the Bandai Namco Amusement booth.

Another title that also recently began shipping out to locations is Angry Birds Boom!. That debuted at IAAPA Expo Europe 2024, so this will mark the North American industry debut.

One question that I’ve been asked about once a month throughout the year is: “When are the other three chapters of Godzilla coming out?”. The answer: after IAAPA. All five chapters will be available to play at the show, with  top of that, the highly anticipated Chapter Additions to Godzilla Kaiju Wars VR will make their grand debut here. These are: Gigan Attack, Tokyo Onslaught, and River Assault. The update is free, and it will change the attract mode.

NBA SuperStars is another title that has been out there, seeing a limited release earlier this year before enjoying a wider one. This is the first time it will be at IAAPA and it will be sporting a new software update that will make the game “faster and more exciting.” I had heard some players complaining that it felt slow (compared to the likes of the classic NBA Jam), so we’ll see how it compares and feels.

Last but not least, Marvel: Contest of Champions is getting a reskin to focus the game on the highly successful Deadpool Vs. Wolverine movie that was the biggest hit of the summer. This will also include a software update that changes the attract mode to reflect that focus.

Aside from that, you’ll also be able to find other in-production titles, such as Fast & Furious Arcade, Minecraft Dungeons Arcade, Big Buck Hunter Reloaded, and more that have been available for a while.
